Yuile trotted to the edge of the ice coated lake and after a couple of minutes of attempting to break the ice, gave up. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth, her thirst nearly unbearable. She had tried to swallow some snow but it only helped for a second before making her stomach pang angrily. Her bright blue eyes studied the scene, a weird calm engulfing her ragged form.

Iris hung her head as she made her way through the wood, edging steadily closer to a clearing. She could smell the frozen water which made her thirsty. She stopped to lower her head towards the snow at her feet and snapped at it, holding it in her mouth until it melted into water.
Iris swallowed and panted, the cold ice-water burning her mouth. She heard a noise and gazed towards the lake. A stubborn dog was trying to break the ice and she wondered why she didnt simply eat the snow.

Yuile pawed at the ice again, hoping she could flip a small section of it over. With no luck, she merely flopped onto her side, her sides heaving as she took long, labored breaths. Her mouth was dry and felt sore, her tongue unable to wet her nose once more.
She stretched out limbs, the white fur speckled with snowflakes that fell from the angry grey sky. Her tail was limp, only twitching when she moved her back legs, trying to get a little more comfortable in the snow.

Iris moved slowly towards the dog and bent to sniff her ear as a form of a familliar greeting. It had been a while since she had met her, and it seemed that Yuile was not doing well at all on her own.
Iris lay on her stomach in the snow, her fur blending with the white ice-crystals, and stared at Yuile with her calm yellow eyes, regarding her with a strange look as if to ask why she was there.

Yuile's ear twitched, feeling the other wolf's breath upon it. She looked up at Iris, her tail wagging hopefully. She rolled onto her back and pawed playfully at the wolf's muzzle with her paw.
She was very glad to Iris again, she hoped maybe she could point her in the direction of a shelter, maybe even some food and water. Yuile's eyes potryaed her happiness as she lept to her feet and nudged at Iris's head, "How are you?"

Iris' tail twitched as if she was excited. Her head thingyed to the side, "As good as can be expected."
She noticed that Yuile had been trying to drink from the frozen pond, so she showed the dog that the snow was as perfect for thirst.

Yuile lapped quietly at the snow gathered on the ground before looking up at Iris. She envied the older wolf's calm air, her presence commanding and known. Iris always seemed so sure of herself, able to forge food and survive while Yuile well, couldn't.
She noticed she was staring and looked away and took to snapping at the falling snow crystals. Yuile looked to Iris once more, wondering why she had been living in a windmill in the first place. "Do you have a pack?"
