New to Town

Yuile crept quietly into the abandoned windmill, her white ears pricked for any suggestion that someone was already there. Her sensitive black nose quivered in anticipation as new smells reached it. Her blue eyes glanced over her shoulder before she retreated into the building for protection against the cold wind.

Iris's lips curled back and her breath was visable in front of her. She snarled to make her presence known to the kanine that had just pranced into her territory.
The gravel beneath her paws crunched as she walked forward and her white fur blew with the nipping breeze.

Yuile froze in her tracks, her body stiffening. She had crossed some invisible barrier, No wonder this place is abandonded! She cursed her own stupidity for not being more catious and turned to leave, her ears flat in a sign of submission to the 2 year older wolf. Her tail drooped, dragging on the ground as she carefully picked her way to the exit.

Iris moved to block the dog's path. It was the first time in a while that anyone--animal or human--had invaded her domain, and as wary of strangers as she was, she needed some kind of contact.
Images of broken light through the trees create shapes on the white snow that resemble a million eyes.
Iris's ears twitch and her head tilted to the side. She stares at the intruder with a strange sort of welcoming.

Yuile looked back at the wolf who was almost identical to herself; they both had pure white fur and piercing blue eyes. The dog took a tentative step foreward, her the end of her tail wagging slightly, hoping that maybe she would be accepted with this white wolf.
As she moved closer, she flattened her belly against the cold ground in submission once more.
